Labrador runs for mayor of Fairhope, Ala.

His name is Willie Bean Roscoe P. Coltrane, and he's running with the big dogs as a candidate for mayor of Fairhope, Alabama. His advantage? He's the only yellow Labrador retriever on the ticket, so he's got the minority vote locked (and licked, for that matter). Even though his candidacy is decidedly light-hearted, there is some precedent to his appearance on the ticket: In 2004, Junior Cochran, a black Lab, was elected mayor of Rabbit Hash, Ky., the second canine chosen to lead the northern Kentucky hamlet.
