When Ron Owens of Haliburton, Ontario investigated sounds in his kitchen Monday morning, he thought he'd find a raccoon that sometimes enters an open window. Instead, he discovered a black bear, sitting on the counter while enjoying a pecan pie. Owens whistled three loud blasts at the bruin, sending it out the window--while not breaking a thing--but not before it grabbed a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread. In The Haliburton County Echo.
