Protected sea lions found shot in Bonneville traps

Six federally protected sea lions were apparently shot and killed inside traps below Bonneville Dam over the weekend as they awaited relocation to protect migrating salmon on the Columbia River. An appeals court issued a temporary injunction against the planned killing of sea lions less than two weeks ago after the Humane Society of the US filed suit. The Columbian reports.
