9-foot gator dies after eating toy turtle

A 9-foot male Florida Keys alligator known by locals as ''Bacardi'' because of his No. 151 tail tag has died after eating a toy turtle the size of a cookie-cutter. The Miami Herald reports that a necropsy showed the plastic toy stuck between the alligator's stomach and intestines, making it unable to digest food.
