DNA test: Sierra wolverine came from Rockies

WolverinePreliminary tests on the scat left behind by the lone wolverine whose image was captured by a trail camera last month in California's Sierra Nevada indicate the animal is not native to The Golden State. "Either someone moved it or it went on a long trek of its own," said Michael Schwartz, a research ecologist at the U.S. Forest Service's Rocky Mountain Research Station in Missoula, Mont. In The Redding Searchlight.
