Charges dropped against PETA worker in dog collar case

Despite calling the defendant "a meddlesome do-gooder," a circuit judge in Virginia has dismissed charges in a case stemming from a 2006 incident in which PETA case workers picked up a hunting hound and removed its tracking collar, leaving the device on the roadside. Ondrea Harris, 26, faced charges of misdemeanor larceny for theft of the collar. Reported in the Virginian-Pilot.
