SD octogenarian's cougar headed to museum
Remember the story about Martha Smith, the 80-year-old S. Dakota Black Hills woman who shot and killed a mountain lion in her yard? Because she killed the cat to protect her property and was not licensed to do so, the state is having the animal mounted and donated to a museum. However, in a generous gesture, the S. Dakota State Legislature recently passed a resolution to allow Smith to have the mount in her home for a short time before it goes on public display.
